July 22, 2014 have driven to Vancouver Island with Albert to visit some if the relatives that he has not seen for  number of years. We spent the rest of the week visiting and on the 26th. caught the late afternoon ferry to Vancouver and at 0200 hrs. flew from Vancouver to Taipei.  A 17 hour stop over afforded us to go on a 1/2 day free tour of the city.  We are now waiting in the airport for our  flight to Brisbane.
The temperature was 87F  and the humidity was high so it made for a quite warm day. Taipei is the Amsterdam of Asia, planes arrive and take off  every few minutes, but most people are just transferring from one carrier to another and do not spend that much time here.  This is the reason that there is a 1/2 day tour to see if more people will spend more time here.
