August 16, 2014 Eungella

Platypus

First one that I have seen in the wild at the Broken River in the Eungella National Park
The ramp that is used to fly off by the hang gliders at Eungella Chalet
Spent the morning at the Sunday market at Marian. In the afternoon went up to the mountain area just
East of Mackay. Just an hour drive and the topography changes a lot, from cane field to rolling hills and dairy farms. The area is called Eungella and from the escarpment you can on a clear day all the way back to Mackay.  At the Eungella National park at Broken  River you can see Platypus and we were very lucky today as we did see one and was able to take some photos.
Later it was back to Marian and dinner.

Looking over the escarpment towards Mackay
